Getting started
Do I need a subscription?
No. Playhouse plays media you already have. There is no catalogue to subscribe to and no charge per device.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Apple TV, Android TV, Android XR, Vision Pro and Meta Quest. Your library and playback position sync across all of them.
Can I use it on more than one device at once?
Yes. Playback position syncs when you pause, so starting on one device and finishing on another is the expected way to use it.

Does it work offline?
Yes. Download anything to any device and it plays without a connection.
What formats are supported?
Direct play wherever possible, with transcoding as a fallback. The full matrix will be documented once Playhouse Server ships.
Does it support 3D and 180°/360° video?
On Meta Quest, yes. See Quest setup.
Library and privacy
Do I need my own server?
Not today. Playhouse Server is planned for people who want to self-host, but the apps work without it.
Is my library private?
Your library is yours. Playhouse does not scan, share or sell what you watch.
